Dear MKG,

Thank you for a wonderful evening!  I completely enjoyed tonight’s program: people brought their knitting entries from the Minnesota State Fair and shared the judge’s comments, back stories, etc.  The meeting lasted until 10 pm because so many people had brought items.  I am constantly amazed at the quality and complexity of the knitting and humbled to win any ribbons at all!

Did any of you see this dress?  Victoria shared the link in a comment, and I was blown away!  Drew looks absolutely stunning and the dress is amazing.  The bodice looks like a tattoo!   Is crochet sexy?  You bet, but who could create this??

  1. I’m seeing it now, and it looks like woven lace (you know, woven in a loom). It doesn’t seem to me to be crochet. Anyway, I’d have to look closer.

  2. That is an awesome use of lace – having a contrast color underdress gets away from a sleazy peek-a-boo look, and shows off that lace beautifully.

You always find the most creative dresses – I remember the sock monkey ballgown from a few years back!

  5. I mostly really like it, but the “vagina dentata” thing going on in the front sort of gives me the willies. Love how the bodice looks, though.

  12. Looks to me like it is an embroidery on VERY sheer ground fabric. No crochet at tall!

    Quite stunning!
