From Susan — It’s a Twofer

Yep, today you’re getting two FOs for the price of one!!  They are small FO’s but what do you expect when there is a sale like this going on?

First, I finished Sally’s Topsy Turvy:

Topsy Turvy Front Soft fold by you.
Topsy Turvy with Soft Fold in Front

Topsy Turvy Front with Sharp Fold by you.
Topsy Turvy with Regular Fold

Topsy Turvy 011 by you.
From the Back

I really like it!  It took two complete skeins of Artyarns Rhapsody (I do not see my color on their web page; I had about 2 gms left!!) and I’m not sure how well the scallops will hold after wearing it, but I like it a lot!  It stays on your shoulders quite nicely, unlike shawls that need adjusting.

Second FO: another pair of Fetching Glovelets:

fetching Glovelets in Silk by you.

These were made at the request of eldest daughter to be given to a friend for her birthday.  When my kids ASK for knitting, they get knitting!  Period.  I had this hand dyed, 100% silk in my stash (no label so I can’t give more details) and DD thought the color was perfect.

So, a two for one sale at The Rainey Sisters blog!! 😉

  1. I’m with you. When the kids ask for knitting, they get it. In fact my mantra is never knit for anyone unless they ask for it. I’ve seen that look of horror on too many gift recipient’s faces.

  2. Love the color of the Topsy Turvy! The loop type of thing (my, what an eloquent description)is supposed to be real popular this year…

  3. Ditto on the knitting for kids. But I have to say, I’m not usually that generous with my primo stash. You are a loving mother, indeed!

Both FO’s are charming and charmingly knit!

  4. I love those wrist warmers! The cable detail is so pretty; I love when cables make a project like that look a little poofy. It’s such a nice touch! They will make a lovely present!

  7. Oh, I’m with you on the knitting for kids! I’m desperately seeking my sock mojo. . . because my daughter specifically asked for the socks from the latest fall issue of Interweave Knits . . . and I WILL make that happen! I love Sally’s topsy-turvy! Will you be making the pattern available (she asked, with fingers crossed)?

  11. Hi, the chart on the topsy turvy moebius shows starting the 16-stitch pattern from the left. Shouldn’t all the row numbers be on the right side, since this is knitting in the round, and you don’t want purls on yarnovers? Love the pattern! Thank you!
