From Both of Us — And the Winners Are . . .

Filed under: Updates — Both Sisters @ 9:38 pm

We were surprised and gratified by the number of responses to this year’s survey and contest: over 800 of you took the time to answer. Thank you so very much. We are still sifting through and analyzing the responses, and we’ll share what we learn in a future post.

In the meantime, we want to announce the winners of this year’s Bloggiversary Contest:

1. Buffalo Wool

Our winner is: Emily W.

2. Brooklyn Tweed Loft

Our winner is: Sherry N.

3. Fino Alpaca with a Twist

Our winner is: “The Patricia”

Emails have gone out to each of the winners — we didn’t have a mailing address for each winner, so if you are named please check your mail and get back to us. Congratulations!

If you didn’t win, please know you are winners in our eyes and better luck next year!

  3. Hello, On a different topic, I would love to hear your review of the Principles of Knitting book.

I’m also pondering the practicality of a heavy duty book now that so much technique etc. is available online/youtube etc. I appreciate that there is something about touching/feeling a book..however….would love your insights since you are both computer savvy. Would be an interesting post.

I find myself going online for answers when back in the 1980’s and early 90’s I would delve into a book. When I recently opened my library edition of the ‘Principles of Knitting’, I found that reading it almost seemed like work now that I am used to reviewing techniques online, picking the best and getting at the project. Perhaps that a sad evolution and maybe I’m alone but would love your review and thoughts on this – I should have added reviews to the survey suggestions but didn’t think of it then 🙂

    Thanks so much…Ruth

  4. Congratulations on your blogaversary!
I look forward to the results of the survey–should be very interesting with so many knitters responding.
Back to Winter in Toronto with snow overnight. March is going out like a snow covered lion, I guess.
    Happy Spring, no matter what!

  5. Susan, there was a blog posting of a sweater you knit for your son made from KnitPicks City Tweed–what color did you use for that? Thanks!

  6. Sorry–just figured out that it was Sally that knit the sweater for her son! What was the color name, please?
