From Susan — Congratulations, President Elect Obama

It has been a long two years of campaigning and everyone is sick to death of it, but now that it’s over, it seems all worthwhile.

At 10 pm, when they announced Barack Obama’s victory, I cried with joy and relief.  Then I ran outside, lit some fireworks and screamed like a banshee!   A little ‘oops’ moment for moi when I realized I was way too close to my hubby’s car, the house and the lawn.

After all that suspense and agony and the dirty politics, it felt like a cleansing moment.

I am hopeful for the future once again.  He is brilliant and has a vision — and obviously can make things happen.  But let’s give the man some time.  He has so far to go to repair what has been done.

GO-BAMA!!

  2. Absolutely agree! We’ve been spiraling into this mess for quite some time–it’s not something that we’re likely to get out of quickly, but I’m confident that we’re now headed in the right direction.

  6. Yesterday I took the day off from work to celebrate with my friends and was so happy to see the joy on peoples faces as they walked through our neighborhood. It’s as if a great weight has been lifted from our shoulders. While there is much work to be done I think there is just so much relief to know we actually have a chance to move forward and change our nation for the better.

  12. I didn’t cry, but I’m praying hard as I can. This presidency will not be the great national picnic advertised during the campaign. However, if his proposed higher taxes and socialist giveaway programs impinge on my yarn budget, there is going to be hell to pay!

  13. I am right there with you on the yarn budget! I will watch the ‘talk to doing’ transition with interest and concern.
Amazingly enough, there are actually a few Republican knitters out there in that ‘other’ 46% of the popular vote!

  14. Yoo Hoo!!! I hope my yarn budget does not dwindle but if it does, I will be happy to spend some of my knitting time helping those less fortunate. Again, Yoo Hoo!!

  15. You’re trying to make me start crying again. It took me 14 days to stop crying about some aspect of the election..I thought I was done when I didn’t cry when they were on 60 minutes..then you go and show those pictures!!!!!!!!! I’m so hopeful for us as a nation.

I would love to send you the best group of pictures I’ve seen so far… they are sooooo powerful …… e-mail me if you’d like to take a peek. You might already have them…(I hope not) :)!!!
