There are several ways to make increases. Most methods involve knitting into an existing st somehow or, in the case of “make one,” knitting the running thread (the thread that is between 2 sts) with a twist so as to not make a hole. This pulls the two sts to either side tighter and makes them smaller to gain the length needed to make the new st. These smaller sts are noticeable and unattractive. Â
I came up with a way to eliminate this problem: make a yarnover on the row right before the ‘make 1,’ in the exact position of the m1. This increases the length of the running thread so the st does not need to pull from the surrounding sts.
















Hmm. I would have never thought of that. I’ll have to try it out. Think it would show up too
horribly mid-sleeve? Nah.
