How to Make a Sock Monkey

  1. […] We added these new friends to the household.  Each one of these items had been requested during the past year: A much loved duck – I changed the color scheme and type of yarn to get a larger size.  A sock monkey – I added some fake fur to the head.  The monkey was made from XL socks so he is very long and lanky and last – Petrushka – there was A LOT of knitting on this baby!! It is basically worked from the top down and picking up stitches to create all of the appendages and clothing items.  I finished this one on 12/23 at 10 PM!  […]

  5. Hi,
Noticed you are knitting Roseleaves Tunic or have knitted it by now. How did the project turn out? Did you like the fit? I was thinking about knitting it for myself.
    Thanks for any information.

  6. I think I saw a pattern for the mini sock monkeys on your site about a year ago. It’s not showing up anywhere and I am hoping (I know I’m running out of time) to make three of them for my kids stockings. If you have the pattern could I beg, borrow, or buy it from you. Eternally grateful,
    Gwen

  7. I bought a kit from http://www.SockMonkey.net because it came with the filling stuff. It turned out OK but I think I could do much better if I tried again.

  9. How do you attach the arms & the ears? Do you cut holes in the 1st sock or do you just stitch it? If stitching, what type of stitch? I tried to stitch the arms on my monkey & it does not hold properly.
