Sally and I were kidding that our blog is turning into Bohus Central!  However, the following link will actually help you feel like you are at the Bohus Exhibit itself, so I had to share:

Bohus Knits at the American Swedish Institute

  1. I’ve been eyeing the kits for several years now. Are they still being sold at the American Swedish Institute?

  2. Danielle, I haven’t checked recently but they were close to selling out when I was there for opening weekend. However, kits can be ordered directly from Solveig.

  3. Thank you so much for sharing that link, it was fantastic to see some of it. My daughter lives there, and I’ve told her to go see it. I’m in Boston, sure wish it would come here! Your sweater is beautiful! I have a kit, just need the courage to start! Thanks again for sharing all this on your blog, I really enjoyed it!

  4. Thank you for the link. I have a question – I have the Wild Apple kit and will be taking a Bohus class from Susanna in June. I guess I’d classify myself as an expert knitter, but wondered whether you’d suggest that I take the class before striking in on the kit. Thanks again for all your lovely pictures of your Bohus sweaters – they’re beautiful.

  5. Thank you for sharing! How lucky that you were able to attend that wonderful exhibit. I wish it would travel to Manhattan. I can’t believe the gentleman called it “painful” knitting?! I might call it many other things … time consuming, intricate, labor intensive, and maybe even a bit tedious when it comes to the rounds and rounds of stockinette… but painful?! No way 🙂

  6. What beautiful sweaters!! I am concerned about the fit. A couple of years ago, I knit a sweater in a similar pattern and found that the shoulders were a bit tight (I am fairly broad shouldered). Do you find that knitting the yoke on a larger size needle allows it to fit better?
