My camellias are in bloom, but yesterday it was so chilly I needed a fire.
Today, however, the weather is glorious, and I keep dreaming up spring/summer knitting projects. I’m making progress on my Cathedral sweater, though, so I don’t want to stop. I finished the front and started the first sleeve. Lucy thinks she might need a camisole to wear under this sweater; I think she should worry about getting a pair of knickers first.
It’s not very exciting to look at a neckless sweater, is it?
I adore this Malabrigo Solis that my loving sister gave me. I haven’t decided what to do with it — mayhaps some socks? I can’t get the color to pop in these photographs the way it does in person.
Must.finish.one.sleeve.first.
P.S. — A graduation congratulations to my niece Laura!
PS2 from Susan — Laura did indeed have her graduation celebration this evening — she completed her training at the Aveda Institute. One more hurdle to go in the form of her written exam and then (please!!!) off to find a job.
I think your neckless sweater is pretty darn exciting! I wish I had one to match it! I love that pattern, and I think we’re all in agreement that undergarments of some sort are necessary… Beautiful, beautiful.

That is the most stunning piece of knitting I have ever seen. Could you e-mail me the source of the pattern and what kind of yarn is recommended? If it is out of some out-of-print book I’ll be very disappointed. Thanks in advance.

The Cathedral sweater is a real beauty! A lot of handknit sweaters are being modeled in knitting books and magazines with bikini bottoms lately, improbable as that may seem. Perhaps Lucy would like a bikini.
Malabrigo does such wonderful things with color.

That’s a great silver vase (is it old?) and your sweater is awesome!

I’m so glad you’re knitting a Japanese pattern right now. I’m taking the Japanese knitting class at Yarnover in MN this weekend and you are certainly whetting my appetite! (Are you going to make the trip?)

That’s absolutely stunning and very appealing!
Your work is certainly motivating me to keep on knitting!
Must go start another project soon!

Love the cathedral sweater! I can’t wait to see it completed. Is the pattern available? Where would I find it?

I never comment but I feel like it today- I was a graduate of the Aveda Institute just 14 years ago (yikes!) and I have enjoyed such a fun career, many congratulations to Laura and lots of luck.
And I am so excited by the japanese patterns that I see everywhere. Your sweater is absolutely beautiful.

I’m a monkey see, monkey do kind of person. So, I ordered the book and can pretty much make out the symbols with a couple of exceptions. Any help would be appreciated. Absolutely love your sweater.
