From Susan — Mitten Accompli

I finished both mittens last night and did an embellishment that I think took the mitts to the next level (of Dante’s Inferno?!?).  They are done, and now I can move on to other knitting.  I plan on working on Oregon this afternoon, as it has been neglected terribly the last few weeks.  I am so close to the armhole steek that it is a shame not to press onward.  I will post some pics soon.  We have not had any long posts or pictures in a while!

  2. Did I hear a sigh of relief 😉 Hope to see them soon though I’m sure that they’re nicer than you’re making them out to be. You’re too modest!

    Goody! I’m glad Oregon’s making a comeback.

  3. Yay! Pics. I finally got the the GAAA booklet and can’t wait to get started. It’ll take ME forever, but at least I’ll always have something great to knit 😉

  4. 🙂 Yippee!! Can I pick your brain? Probably THE idiot question of the week… on the GAAA, when a
pattern says knit 3 ridges, does that mean knit three rows? or knit 1 row purl 1 row 3 times?
I’m sure that I should be ashamed of myself for not knowing this. I appreciate your expertise!

  5. I don’t know the pattern, Michelle, but are they talking about garter stitch ridges? If so, remember that to make garter stitch, you knit every row. It takes two knit rows to make one garter stitch ridge. Therefore, three ridges would = six knit rows.

That’s a total guess based on your post without knowing which pattern directions you’re talking about. So I will defer to my sister on this one in case I’m misunderstanding you.
