The top is done. I do need to seek out some better ribbon, but I am not going to travel the globe to find it. I’ll just search as I go along.

Chalk up another project!! I enjoyed making this. It was probably more for me than for her, but then she gets to wear it. 
That is so sweet! About your last sentence, that would be me and occassionally, I wish I had a daughter to sew and knit for. My kids are too conservative to wear Fair Isle!

Susan-it turned out just beautiful! I am inspired to try some lace soon. Maybe after I finish the market bag, 2 pairs of socks and the sweater I am working on.

Adorable! I just bought the IK issue yesterday (yeah, I’m a little behind — I live so far out in the sticks that I have to drive 25 miles just to get to Mal*Wart; a trip to The Cities is a Big Deal). As I was perusing the mag last night I recognized the lace top. Looking at the model in the magazine, I had some doubts about your making it for a 13-yo — it seemed a little, um, mature (= see-through) for a girl that age. Forgive me! It looks perfect on her — did you line it? Pure genius, and gorgeous knitting, too. She’s a lucky girl.
