From Sally — Berry Cluster Pullover Update

Filed under: Feather and Fan Shawl,Sally's Berry Cluster Pullover — surly @ 6:07 pm

It’s finished! Sort of.

Both sleeves are complete and I’ve sewn in one. But . . . I sliced the index finger of my left hand very badly yesterday. Yeah — there was a lot of blood. Kind of a crime scene look. It reminded me of that SNL skit in which Dan Aykroyd impersonates Julia Childs.

Anyway, it hurts like hell and I can’t knit very well. I didn’t feel like tackling the second sleeve or the pearls, but I’m hoping I’ll be able to get to that this weekend. In the meantime, I’m attempting to knit on my Feather and Fan shawl. But it’s slo-o-o-o-o-w. I use that finger to push the needle when I’m knitting. I can knit without it, but it feels awkward.

  2. Owie! — which is worse, the pain or how it cuts into your knitting?

  3. From Susan — Sally, go to the doctor to see if you need medical treatment! For Pete’s sake, your knitting and our blog depend on it!!

  4. Hope your finger & knitting both are painfree very soon.

I can sympathize with the crime scene thing — My son once had something we refer to as “the unfortunate table setting incident”. I had to call his dad from the ER to warn him that it only LOOKED like someone had been murdered.

    Good healing!

  5. I should have gotten stitches, but now it seems stupid. Pam — I think we all need to hear more about “unfortunate table setting incident.” You can’t drop an intriguing phrase like that and then just vanish.

  6. From Susan — I never would have guessed that Dan Akroyd would make an appearance on our blog!

  8. That Dan Akroyd sketch is a classic. A few weeks ago my husband and I were watching a program about Julia Child and we kept laughing about how much she reminded us of him doing her. Weird, I know.

    Fast healing vibes to you!
