Another Birkie under our belts: 29th finish for John! And what a finish it was. It was one of his best races. He looked great at the Finish Line — ready to keep skiing!
Far better than last year when it was so cold that people were pulled off with frost bite. The weather was perfect and John’s skis were fast.
Next year John will get a new bib color to denote his 30th race in Year 40 of the Birkie.
I, of course, was naughty. I kept knitting with my pain. Today I am going to take a break…though watching the “world famous award show that gives out little gold statues” (no trademark infractions here!!) without knitting will be very hard to do!!
CONGRATULATIONS to John on a good race. This is good in spite of having little to no snow to train on this year! I love that he’s been able to do this every year for nearly 30 years. And I love further that this will be denoted next year by an “elevated” bib color! Glad you could enjoy a much nicer weekend this year. Love, Cathy

Congrats to John and for achieving that milestone as well. I feel your “can’t knit” pain. With all the commercials these days , TV without knitting can be hard to bear. Maybe you have a Scrabble app when that happens?

Way to go, John! You are surely having a strange winter there. If I’d known it would be so mild I could’ve waited 6 more months to move to Seattle.

I can’t imagine how anyone can STOP knitting, even for a while. I have to confess that sometimes my fingers tingle, and I do try to slow down, but it never works for long. And congrats to John for a race well skied.

Congrats to John!
And I have joined the non-knitting knitter band, due to a double fractured right wrist (likely to require surgery). Not knitting is making me crazy.

Go John!!!!! That is incredible. I have a friend who does the Birkie; last year she got frostbite. This year she spent the winter in Arizona 🙂
