From Susan — I’m Ba-a-a-a-a-a-c-k!!

I am back to the Cities and back to work! Nice to return to the loving arms of my family, but all of the hub-bub has left me exhausted.

Sally and I had a great time at Maryland Sheep and Wool — the weather was fine and the yarn plentiful. Unfortunately we did not get any pictures. We ran into Astrid, a long-time reader and friend with her husband. Astrid is a wonderful knitter — we share a lot of projects in common.

ETA: Astrid sent me this picture!

We also ran into another reader at an inopportune moment. Both Sally and I were covered in food: I was dusted head to toe in apple strudel crumbs, with gobs of apple filling all over my hands and face…Sally was dipped in chocolate ice cream. What a delectable sight!

No Sheep and Wool pics, but here is a photo from Yarnover. Sally and I are posing with the real Lila and Claudine (we’re the ones in the back 😉 !)

  1. I am jealous!! My daughter lives in Howard County, MD, about 10 miles from the Sheep & Wool Festival. But, I will probably never get to go. My grandson’s birthday is May 21, and I visit every year for his birthday. The Festival is always the first full weekend in May. It would be too long a visit for me to stay from the first weekend in May until my grandson’s birthday, and it would be too much traveling for me to go to the Festival and then return for my grandson’s birthday. So, I read about other people’s visits to the Festival. I am looking forward to hearing more about it from you.

  2. Susan, what is that shawl that one of you are wearing? It’s beautiful!

  3. Welll, I looked for you two….but found Anna Zilboorg instead. That was nice. But I’m sorry I missed you. Would have liked to have seen Susan’s shawl too. Maybe next year. Hope you brought home lots of goodies and that we will see them transformed into Rainey Sisters sweaters and shawls.

  4. I lived in MD for 11 years and never went to the Sheep & Wool Festival, how dumb am I? Maybe it wasn’t so big 15 years ago. Some year I will go. Susan, what shawl were you wearing at Yarnover, its lovely.
