From Susan — Everyone Needs Peeps

Doesn’t everyone need a friend?  Obviously having gone over the deep end, I thought if one peep is good, aren’t three even better??

Rowan’s Easter Chicks

Their tails look suspiciously like bunny tails, but they are Easter chicks after all!! 🙂

Patti asked how I tied my Malabrigo Linen Stitch Scarf.  It is not super original by any means, but I do think it shows off both the scarf and the fringe.  Fold the scarf in half and then pull one end through the middle.  Weave the second end under, then over.  Tighten it all up around the neck, adjusting so the right side faces out.

All tied up!

Today when we woke up the temperature was in the single digits, with no end in sight!  My skiing husband is in hog heaven, but the rest of us want to jump in front of a moving bus. 🙁

  1. You have inspired me! I have been knitting a couple bags and a shawl for a fund raiser for my school district. No one likes the shawl idea (Dragonfly Wings) because they don’t wear them. I like the bags and keep thinking I may want to keep them. But, I own Rowan Purelife: The Organic Cotton Kids Collection. It has the pattern for the chicks, Rosie Pig, Sonia Cow and Francis Turkey. I think they are a winner! Thanks for your fun photos!

  5. I love those Easter peeps, too. They just make you smile. I think I may have to give them a try.

As for the scarf — it’s so pretty. I want to make it, too. Thanks for the how-to tie tutorial.

    (I love your blog, too!!)

  7. Three chicks is better than one and I love the view of them sitting out on the deck with their legs dangling down. SOoooo adorable. Your scarf is stunning and what a clever way to tie it. My sympathy goes out to you as you await signs of spring. You probably don’t want to know that I spent the whole day working out in my garden. Right, thought not.

  9. They’re so lame and they’re so cute – I particularly like the view of their bunny butts. What are you going to do with them? Just have them hang out as Easter decorations each year? Put them in baskets for small kiddos? Turn them into bean bags for a church fair? (I’m seeing the cut-out target board as a fox, with peeps being tossed its way. Much derisive eye-rolling!)

  10. Thanks for answering my question about the scarf. I liked it so much I bought the kit too. And the sock monkey bag. Your blog is like crack, I see and I want too. I think I will be knitting until I’m 105 with everything in the queue.

  13. Peeps only come in trios. Doesn’t everybody know that?

  14. Amen! Even Younger Son is done with skiing now, though there’s plenty of snow and he could still be out there. Maybe if we all knit lots of chicks, we could lure Spring into coming to the Midwest?! Soon?!

  15. Love the peep trio. Who wouldn’t want more than one?
