My oldest daughter is a senior, need I say more?
I feel like I am living in the Old South under the hanging boughs of a giant Weeping Willow, waiting for Rhett and the boys to bring me supper.
Or maybe Mardi Gras?
We are just nerdy enough to be happy she got tee-peed on Senior Tee Pee night! And the cops were out searching every car for suspicious quantities of Charmin! 🙂
I stayed up until 2am reading the last of Harry Potter #6…I am shocked, saddened and afraid to read #7. I do not expect to get much knitting done this weekend!
And of course, GA started up again last evening. I thought it maintained the continuity of the previous seasons. I’ll keep watching.
That must be an American custom I am unaware of, but since you’re happy, then I guess, I’m happy for her. Congratulations on getting tee-peed 😉

Susan- Tee-peed? Toilet papered?
Ah youth, tp in the trees- good times.
Comment by Lorraine — September 28, 2007 @ 8:42 am
We need toilet paper…hope there’s not a shortage! 🙂
Comment by Kay — September 28, 2007 @ 9:03 am
Ah, toilet paper. I never personally tee pee’d anyone, but I was present once when some of my friends tee pee’d another friend’s house. My boyfriend’s daughter once got tee pee’d, when they were on vacation, so she never saw it and I got to clean it up!
Enjoy the HP #7! I love the whole series (I already have read the 7th book and listened to it TWICE)

Ah, Chapter 33 — worth the whole seven books.
I was disappointed in Grey’s Anatomy, personally. I think they are going to regret losing “Dr. Burke” as a character. I will even miss Addison, but not enough to watch the spin-off.
My tangled yoke is now “joined.” More on that tomorrow.

I must be nerdy too…because it just looks so pretty! I bet it is messy to clean up though. I’ve got to catch up on Harry. I haven’t started on 6 yet and I know I’m tempting fate that someone will blurt out what happens.

Humm…tee pee…good times, good times.
I didn’t watch Grey’s last night or even tivo it. I thought that the end of last season really jumped the shark. Maybe I will watch it online this weekend. I am just sick and tired of the whole Grey/McDreamy thing…break up…get back together…break up…AHHH!

I watched Grey’s last night! I thought it did a good job of setting up the relationships for the season. When it’s not on, I always miss my Thursday night drama/laughter fest, not to mention the time alone with the TV – the dear boyfriend hates Grey’s. 😀

There’s only one thing worse than being tee p’d. Cleaning up the TP after it has rained.

Before you know it said Sr. will be graduating… FROM COLLEGE. Trust me. Can’t believe how fast the time flies. Congratulations on being the mother of a kid who has quality TPing friends!! (I was a part time mom when my kids were seniors, so their DAD got to clean up the charmin. 😀

The only time our house was rolled, we had 15 plum trees in the front yard. I thought it was funny. DH wasn’t as amused – probably because he’d rolled many a home when he was a kid – caught and had to clean up some of them.
Kids grow up so fast – I sometimes wish for those years to be back again. Then I come to my senses. Now have 5 grandkids and love this time too!

Ah, some things don’t change. TP-ing was popular even in the 50’s! Glad you understand the importance of tradition.
Comment by Astrid — September 28, 2007 @ 7:56 pm
And here I thought TPing was unique to Texas! I’m glad to see the teenage practice is alive and well in other states also. I had a big laugh when I went out to get the newspaper last Saturday morning and saw the trees across the street all heavily draped with TP. (A football player lives there.) Reminded me of my teenage years and my son’s teenage years.
As for Grey’s Anatomy, I was disappointed in the sequence about the deer. It was too unbelieveable that a resident and interns would spend so much time saving a deer’s life while patients inside the hospital were critically in need of help. I think a quick call to a veterinarian would have been more realistic!

The latest trend here is forking. (You’d never guess I teach high school, would you?) Hundreds of plastic forks are stuck individually in the lawn. One of my students confided that it would be cruel to do to “old people.”
Comment by Panhandle Jane — September 29, 2007 @ 12:33 pm
Until I read the last comment, I thought that I’d be the first to mention “forking.” The last time we were tp’ed, we had crepe-paper streamers and cheap Walmart panties up in the trees with the tp. Think the devious crew would take requests for Victoria’s Secret in my size?

great tp shots! Yes- kids bring all kinds of excitement to our lives.
I watched Grey’s and still am loving it. With George and Izzie at the end- I can’t wait till next week.

My son and 4 friends were arrested for “forking” someone’s yard, and were sent to an outpatient rehab for it. The only rehab we have where we live is for drugs, but they sent them anyway. The other people attending rehab were speechless. And some people pay good money to have their lawns aireated (sp?)!!
Comment by Marsha — September 29, 2007 @ 6:50 pm
Rehab for FORKING? Sounds like you had a real lack of crime in the area that weekend. I hope they learned their lesson and don’t move on to “spooning” or plastic “knifing,” maybe even the dreaded paper-plating 🙂

From Susan — To Denise and Marsha: A whole place setting of vandalism awaits!

Love the “i knit with GREY’S” button. Our TV reception is so bad that I watch very few shows in real time, but I’m on season 2 of Grey’s right now — it is addicting.
