Thanks for all of the nice comments on my sweater. I had a few moments of real doubt while finishing it.
I wanted to answer one additional question that was asked (I’ve answered lots of questions within the comments). The question was about how much yarn I used. I had meant to address that. My size called for 8 skeins of Rowan Felted Tweed, which is the yarn I used. It’s a light yarn, and you get a lot of yardage per 50 gram skein (191 yards). In effect, I used 6 skeins, not 8. I used every bit of those 6 skeins — I only had a few yards left over. (I say in effect because I redid part of the neck and in doing so broke into the 7th skein. If I hadn’t done that, I wouldn’t have touched it.) So, although my changes may have meant I used less yarn, I still think that means that the yardage amounts suggested in the pattern are quite generous.
That padding is common in all IK patterns. It’s typically 10-15%. Your project came out beautifully!

I think the fact that you didn’t make a cardigan would account for some of that extra yarn, since button bands overlap.

The sweater is fabulous… along with the wall color in your room~ my living room is the same 🙂
I need to pick the incredibly savvy minds of the rainey sisters once again…. so here goes… okay…. bohus buzzzzzz is going around…. I love wild apples… there’s just something I love about it… and would just love to make it.. I looked on susannas fabulous site and am in awe… the kits are pricey however… like really pricey… not to be toooooooooo tacky but is the average going rate for a bohus kit in the $200 price range? Is it possible to put the yarn together on you own? I know a little knitterly birdie named Lorraine mentioned a possible BOHUSSIES!! kal… how fun 🙂

Sally- Better too much yarn than too little- I HATE running out of yarn.
Michelle- look in the archives to see these wonderful chickies modelling their Bohus sweaters and
then tell me what you think.
The Rainey Sisters could model garbage bags for Glad and still look terrific!

Hello! Just read through your mods to the tangled yoke pattern – love what you’ve done! I’m working on it myself and I think I’m going to work it as a pullover as well. I was wondering if you could let me know more about the short rows you did before and after the cabling. Thanks!
