From Susan — Call it Done

My splash of color is finished and turned out like it was supposed to.  Whether or not it is a masterpiece is not up for debate.  It’s not.  But, it does seem like something I will wear often this summer, AND is in a popular color for the season!

I did omit the asymmetry at the neckline and also did a crochet edge around the raw edges at the armholes and neckline.  This was to both improve the appearance and to stabilize the garment.

This seemed like it took forever to knit even though it is simple.  I broke into my 6th skein so I am glad I purchased that “insurance policy!” 😉  Enjoy your weekend, peeps!!

  2. Love it. Especially the color. Looks better without the asymmetric neckline, IMO. Thought about making this to use up some boring, denim colored yarn that’s been taking up too much room in the stash for too long. Your version is much more new project inspiring than the original pattern. Brava!

  4. Oh yes. I agree that your mods losing the asymmetry are a big improvement, making it very wearable indeed. This is going to be a great, flexible addition to your wardrobe. Yeah, probably boring to knit, but worth it.

  5. Bravo on nixing the asymmetry. Do like the way it flares, should be very flattering. I’m gonna dig thru my stash.

  6. Did you straighten up the hem also? I prefer your symmetric design alterations.

  7. Thank you for not doing the asymmetrical neckline. I saw this pattern and immediately said, “no” — but with the regular neckline I really like it; the swingy shape is flattering and definitely something I’d wear, I just couldn’t see past the (weird) neckline. Lovely job!
