From Susan — Can’t Get Enough

I adore my Scatness Tunic!  I loved knitting it and after yesterday, I adore wearing it!  Yay!  Because I had so much yarn left over, I decided to make a matching cowl.

I could go in many different directions, but then I realized that what I love about Scatness is the corrugated ribbing, the fair isle band, and of course the buttons.  I did not want to cover all that up with a cowl.  So, I decided to incorporate all of my favorite elements into the design.

The cowl is a plain rectangle, and when I went to wear it, it looked weird in the front.  So I twisted it fully once and then snapped it.  Voila.  A faux moebius (a fauxbious! …Heidi) was born.

I wore the tunic and cowl to work yesterday.  A friend I’ve known for more than twenty years said it was the cutest thing I had ever made and was her favorite of all my sweaters! 🙂

  1. I love this sweater and cowl so, so much! I totally agree with you about the corrugated ribbing and those BUTTONS are incredible! Your Nightingale and now Scatness with Scowl are my most favorites of ALL time! You, Go, Girl!

  2. Wow, Susan! The sweater is gorgeous as it is, but the cowl is stunning & the two together will be something else! Ditto what Kathy W. said – your Nightingale rivals this tunic & cowl for my favorites, too.

  3. Love the cowl. Makes me want to get out my Alice Starmore book and bin of her fingering – almost anyhow. Maybe I will just to have an excuse to make some of those wonderful buttons. Now I have to look up the Nightingale project.

  4. Oh yes, Nightingale is lovely, but what about My Lil Monster. Lots of projects to love here.

  5. Dare I say it? Here goes. I love the cowl so much more than the tunic. The knitting on both is superb, but the tunic pattern isn’t something that floats my boat. The cowl, on the other hand . . . . . WOW!

  10. It is the most stunning creation you have ever done. The details….especially the buttons and the cowl (complete with buttons) make this my overall favorite–you could wear it every day and I would not get tired of seeing it.
