Yay! My Margo Poncho is done — as of last week actually. Eight days from start to finish, so a nice quick project.
I made a few mods, which are described on my Ravelry project page. I only buttoned it at one spot on each side (there is a button on the front and back) — it looked better that way on me. I bought the buttons at Hancock Fabrics and doubled the cost of the project! But I think they are really nice. They are 1-3/16 inch instead of 1″ and I like the larger size for this.
I was trying frantically to finish this before the weekend and then I never wore it! Oh well. At least now I can forget about my poncho obsession and move on!!
Just beautiful! I have never wanted to knit a poncho so much in my entire life.

I’ve had a hankering to knit one of these, but wonder where in the heck I would wear it. If I’m cold, I want long sleeves.
And, a bazillion bonus points for using stash that is over a quarter of a century old. Where did you get it? I don’t think there were many yarn stores back then, but I know you could get yarn at Dayton’s or Donaldson’s — they had tons of Virgin Orlon (whatever virgin orlon was).

A clerk handed me a poncho to try on at a January clearance sale and I’ve been fantasizing ever since. Didn’t buy it — it was a beautiful Eileen Fisher piece, but if I’d bought it, people would just think I’d made it, and we can’t have that!
Yours looks great!

Very nice, pretty and I’ll bet it’s soft, too, with all that cashmere. Nice even stitches and the buttons are nice, too. Buttons can make or break a garment. Ponchos are so handy for layering in cold weather, or wearing alone come spring or fall. I just love mine.

I’ve started this poncho as well. Cascade Eco. Relaxing knit!
