That’s what you say to anyone who mentions Snefnug (sneff-noog) yarn!!  I saw the yarn featured on an email blast from The Yarnery and just had to check it out!!  I bought two for me and two for Surly.  I made the Leafing Cowl shown in the email.

It’s about 10 inches by 30.  I added a repeat and reversed the decreases (where they did k2tog, I did ssk and vice versa).  Different sized cowls are made by using bigger yarn.  The yarn is butter soft.

  2. The leafing cowl reminds me of “Kiri”. Very pretty. I am knitting Kiri now in navy blue “knitter’s crack”, aka kid silk haze. Modified to make a big crescent for my sister’s birthday in Feb. If you are working a triangle pattern and you want a crescent, just begin with a “tab” that is 75 rows long (75 ridges of garter), then when you pick up the 3 sts from the cast on’s underside, you will be working the usual triangle pattern many rows in when the count has reached 75. The shape it makes is crescent along the top edge and a bit of a point on the bottom. It stays on place better on the shoulders than the usual triangle, which is always trying to crawl down your back. More of the fabric and weight is in the front wings. I hope she loves it. So soft.
