I just finished my Ito Pullover designed by Veronik Avery. I fell in love with the design the first time I saw it, but the pattern was no longer available. Fortunately, it’s now been released digitally.
The original yarn is discontinued, but I substituted a mix of Carol Sunday’s 3-ply yarns (along with a little bit of Classic Elite Fresco in cream that I had in my stash). I used her Brigadoon in Birch for the main color. It is lovely to work with and feels wonderful after blocking. I also used Angelic in Midnight and Aqua, and Eden in Celery. Susan and I highly recommend all of her yarns, which are available here. (No, we don’t get kickbacks!)
I made a few modifications to the pattern. The original is very fitted and sleeveless. I knit a more A-line shape and added full sleeves. I also switched out the 2 x 2 ribbing and used garter rib instead.
I’m extremely pleased with how it turned out. Sometimes, when you’ve wanted to knit something for a long time you end up disappointed. Not this time!
I love it! Your modifications are perfect – the original red neckline was a lovely pop of color, but there are already enough colors in this pattern that using the aqua instead makes this design much more cohesive.

The yoke reminds me of those border patterns you see on vintage air brushed plates from the 1930’s. Love it, and your work as always is beautiful!

I just came across the Ito pattern and am in love with it and the colorway you used. BUT, I cannot find the pattern in print or digital anywhere. Can you either tell me where the digital could be found or share it with me? Since it is out-of-print I wouldn’t think that it would be an infringement…
Thanks!
Tricia
