From Susan — Slowly, Very S L O W L Y

Sally and I fell in love with a Big Love cardigan in this beautiful pink yarn.  It is Very Light Pink, Le Gros Lambswool, from Biches & Bûches.  The color is stunning.  The yarn itself is a little hard for me to knit with.  But, I soldier on!!

My right middle finger is in a splint and hurts all the time.  This is related to the “minor” surgery I had last September.  Why doesn’t anything heal correctly?  I’m fed up!!

More so because I have a lot of manual labor to do in the near future…John and I bought a house!  We had dreams of a home on the river, but have given those up.  🙁  Instead, our new home is located on Elm Creek Park Reserve, with a view of a pond.  🙂  The park is the largest in the area, with miles of walking paths, bike trails, and cross country skiing.  John spends a lot of time at the park now as it is — roller skiing on an almost daily basis and XC skiing.  The house is three doors down from the most beautiful flower garden I have ever seen.  No, I don’t garden, but I won’t have to!  Every walk to the trail entrance will take me past this unbelievable floral display.

With every new home, you have the “square peg in the round hole” syndrome.  The new house has many positives and a few question marks (“How will we do ‘X'”), but that is true of every change.  We only have two months to get our house on the market, so we have to get in gear!! 🙂 🙁 🙂 🙁  Ack!!

  2. How wonderful for you both! See! Another right one came along. Hope that hand gets to healing! As my Mom used to say, “getting old is not for sissies”, not that we are old or anything though right! Double good news, we’re going to camp!!

  3. Would this yarn be any easier to knit with if you prewashed it? I’ve done that with steel wooly yarn and bark-like linen and really helped.

Congratulations on the home purchase. I’m happy to offer to help box (I love doing it), and as my SIL is moving at the end of this month, I can be a great box connection, if you’d like one.

  7. Gorgeous shell pink. Congratulations on the new house! As for selling the old one, I feel your pain (well, at least the house-related one), ours has to be ready to go on the market in 6 weeks, we’ve just been out of town for 3 weeks and have a week’s business trip coming up in early March, yikes. As for the finger, I’m sorry it’s so painful but might I suggest you take full advantage of a stiff middle digit and wave it around liberally, preferably while driving.

  8. A new house and you should be in it by the time the paths are snow free! I’m happy for you and John.
