From Susan — Startitis

Startitis is a common problem for knitters and usually results in quite a few WIPs and few FOs!!!  I have about 4-6 projects on my needles right now and a new project waiting for spring.

So, I’m not going to bother listing all my projects just yet, but want to share a gorgeous WIP for the future: Pink Fizz!

It is a new Andrea Mowry design knit in La Bien Aimee yarns.  Surly gave me an outrageous gift certificate to La Bien Aimee so I could buy the color of my dreams, which I did: Anemone.

The real color is somewhere between my photo and these from the La Bien Aimee site (bottom two pics).  Hubby saw it on the table and thought it was stunning!  I plan on re-engineering the pattern slightly to suit my “style” 🙂 🙂 🙂  You hold the two yarns together.  It looks like heaven!!

So, my 2021 goals are to survive and thrive!  Get vaccinated ASAP!!  Get back to my friends and family.

PS to Kathy: I have just too many other projects going right now, but it is going to happen!!

PS2 to Pru: Your yarn sounds lovely!  I probably have some of the mohair in stash, but my stash rarely is what I want! 🙁  Keep us informed on The Rainey Sisters Ravelry Group!!

  1. Wow, that is beautiful! I can’t wait to see the FO — and your modifications! Happy 2021! I’m still finishing projects I started last year, and looking forward to starting Shakespeare in Love — with my modifications, of course. I hope you will post some in-progress photos! Cam

  4. I fell hard and fast too! I’m to the shoulders on the front and back yoke is on the needles going forward from the armhole divide. It’s been a fun knit. Mine is soft blue for my niece. Using Capretta from Knitpicks and Southampton from Webs—like butta’!

  7. That color says “spring” loud and clear. Survive and thrive, indeed – may we all reach those goals!

  8. I could die for that color~ Breathtaking! Looking forward to seeing it in progress and off the needles! You will probably have it done in a wink. Why wait to start? Might bring spring sooner! Go for it, Girl! (Aren’t I naughty!)

  10. I was just looking at this yesterday after getting an email from Tolt about their Pink Fizz KAL which starts tomorrow. I bought the pattern but can’t print it, grrr – I have a finicky printer, it isn’t the pattern. I have some Kidsilk Haze and Plucky Knitter Oxford (?) in stash which might work. I just have too much yarn in stash to justify looking at La Bien Aimee, sigh. And too many WIPs to justify casting on yet, although ask me again on Monday.

  11. I will. Although locating the yarn in all of these moving boxes will be a challenge …

  12. Stunning.

I want my vaccine, too, and once that’s done, i want to come visit and bird watch at your place.
