From Susan — Cough, Cough

Filed under: Baby Cables and Big Ones too — lv2knit @ 11:29 am

I am home sick for the second day.  Ugh!    I hate being sick, and I hate the guilt of missing work and getting so far behind!  My knitting is suffering, too, because I slept so much yesterday!

But being home this morning allowed me to see a lovely sight that I usually miss: the dawning of the day:

The streak of red across the sky was actually much more intense.  And, you can see that we are getting a white Christmas this year!

And here is our small attempt at getting into the holiday spirit:

I have been knitting a bit here and there, though this project seems to be moving slowly.

It’s a simple project and now I am just knitting in the round — Oh well.  It will get done when it gets done.

Tomorrow evening is our annual knitting group Christmas party — an event I cannot miss!  So I am counting on being back to work tomorrow and trying to figure out what to bring.  Great friends, great food, and all knitting related.

  1. Something really bad is going around – people I know who NEVER get sick are starting to drop like flies. In my house, someone has been sick for the past month (we are trading off, first it was the baby, then the husband, and now me). I hope you feel better soon!!!

  2. I really like the color. Maybe blue will become the new red.

  3. This sweater is knitting up beautifully! I hope you feel better quickly, I would rather be sick with the flu than with a cold so I really feel for you. The snow is so beautiful, I would give anything to have a white Christmas. Maybe when my husband retires we can move to where it snows, until then I’ll live through your photos!

  5. You and your sister inspire me. I bought the baby cables, etc. and will soon cast on. Thank you for the info on the short rows, you’re both brilliant. (Hope this flattery makes you feel better.)

  7. Hang in there. You must really be sick if you don’t feel like knitting. Give yourself permission to just be still!

  8. Feel better soon!
My household and workplace are both the site of one person sick after another. Somehow, I’ve managed to not get real sick yet, just an occasional sinus headache, minor sort throat for a few minutes at a time and stuffy nose. I’m hoping to escape the nasty cold, especially since I have so much knitting I want to do.
The sweater is coming along beautifully. Another item to add to my long, long list.

  9. Susan- I hope you feel better. Although I love that time of day in winter, it’s so magical.

P.S. Why do your WIP’s look so pristine, as if they’ve been blocked. Mine look like wadded up balls of crap.
